So, how does this all work?

I think animal lovers, true animals lovers, share a special bond. We can see it in a smiling stranger’s eyes when we’re walking our dogs down the street, when we’re discussing our cat having the midnight crazies, or when we ask for a second opinion about what our pet could have possibly thrown up on the carpet.* Pet people just get it. I understand your love for your fur kid, and it gives me great pride and purpose to help you capture that love with my photography.

*Right as I finished writing this segment I was greeted with the sweet sounds of…well, you know the noise. Perhaps you heard me scream, “Ahh! No, not on the carpet!” My pup just wanted to make my point all the stronger.

As a photographer, I want to give you the best experience I can, and the biggest part of that experience is me. If you’re looking for a stiff, inflexible, automaton with so many clients that they could lose half their database and not notice, well keep looking, because that isn’t me. My time is dedicated to treating you and your fur kids as the individuals you are. I have no magic script for my photo shoots. We go with the flow, get the shots you know you want, and let everything else grow as it will.

 

So, let me break it all down. Surprises are for Christmas, not business ventures!

 

1. Contact:

Send me a message, and let me know what days and times work best for you. I will check my calendar and contact you via phone to confirm the date. At this time we will also discuss any questions you might have, and go over things like locations for the session. You can also click the blue button in the bottom right corner to schedule a phone consultation with me. This allows us to chat and for you to ask any questions you might have.

2. Schedule:

I will commit you to my calendar and hold your spot. This is the time when the 50% retainer is due, and it can be paid via credit card over the phone, or through PayPal. The retainer is what confirms the date/time as yours, and ensures that no one else can book it out from under you.

3. Information:

I will email information needed before the shoot. This includes things like how to prepare for the shoot, pet questionnaire, policies, and anything else you might need to know.

4. Day O’ Awesome!:

Yeah! We have so much to do! First, I will meet you at your home, and we will have a pre-session meeting. I’ll have some treats and toys in tow, answer last minute questions, meet the fantastic fur kids, and we’ll get the show underway.

5. Work Vacation:

Okay, work for me, vacation for you! All you have to do now is sit back and relax while I take care of your images, nerdily toiling away for hours at my computer to make sure your fur kid looks his/her most fabulous.

6. Meet and Squee!:

I get to see your babies once again as we go through your beautiful images. We’ll sit down, enjoy a custom slideshow, and relive the fun of the session.

7. Order:

After enjoying the viewing, we will sort through your favorites and decide which images you want for which products. This is “the” ordering session, so all major decision makers need to be present. Plus, who would want to miss seeing your wonderful photos? Payment can be cash, credit card, PayPal, or check.

8. Presents!:

A few weeks later, just about the time you think you are about to burst in excitement, you will receive your art. Stick those beauties on your wall! Go ahead, brag to your friends about how your non-human kids are far cuter than their…well, nevermind…WE know the truth.
