Q: Where do sessions take place?

A: The shoots allow for up to two locations: Your home and well…somewhere not your home. If you and your pup have a favorite park, hiking trail, neighbor’s yard to pee in, place to get ice cream, etc., then we’ll get some awesome “on location” shots on top of the hanging out at home shots. There is a bit of a distance/time limitation with the second location, but we’ll work something out. For instance: “Amber, I’d like to head to my dog’s favorite park ten minutes from my house.” Done. Vs. “Amber, I really want to take some shots in the mountains of Colorado.” If you are just insistent on booking me a ticket to a beautiful location, and hooking me up with room and board…let’s talk! 😉

Q: My dog is insane/sometimes eats lost Girl Scouts, can I still get photos done?

A: I’m a dog trainer…knowing what to do in order to not get nommed is part of my job description. You might have to give me some additional information, so I don’t go strolling into your yard with a giant, blinking, “Tastier Than Kibble” sign on my face, but I can likely swing it.

Q: What if I don’t want his/her leash in every shot?

A: Have you seen what Photoshop can do to aging celebrities? Leash removal is one of my specialties. That said, it does still take me time to do those sorts of things, so that amount of detailed PS work comes with purchased prints/canvases/etc. For example, if I show you 30 great shots and you decide that you want 10 of them on canvas, metal, and print, I will make those 10 super perfect, instead of all 30. This keeps some of my time intact and keeps prices down. Win win!

Q: So, I’ve got the whole 8×10 down, but what are all these other products? Metal, albums, canvas, stand outs, memory boxes…the list goes on and on.

A: No worries there weary shopper, I have you covered. If I don’t have a sample to show you in person (yet), I’ll be sure to explain all the different options and help you to figure out what will work for you and your home. And you know who hates pushy salespeople? Me, that’s who, so don’t fret about me getting in your face about buying a wall mural…for the exterior of your house. I want you to love your experience, so we’re going to make sure you get just what you want and need, and that’s that.

Q: Can you control the weather?

A: Not yet. But, I can make the best of it. Intense heat is not good for dogs or photographers, so in the hottest months, expect shoots to be scheduled in the earlier morning or pre-evening. If the pavement is scorching, I won’t photograph melting dog feet. That said, if your Chihuahua treats a 90 degree day like Christmas morning, we’ll talk it over. The same goes for snow. If your dog just eats up a 20 degree day like I eat sweets, we can rock the snow photos. Rain, well rain is the tricky one, right? Bad for dog coats and bad for camera equipment. If it’s nasty outside, we’ll reschedule at no additional cost to you.

Q: How do I book, and how/when do I pay?

A: Contact me and I will whip out my calendar. To book, there is 50% down as a retainer. This secures and assures the date and time of your session. It essentially takes that time off the market so that no other eager pet lover snags your spot. The retainer is non-refundable, as I will be turning away other clients who may want that spot. The other 50% is due at the session. I have a snazzy card reader for my phone for credit cards, or you are welcome to PayPal me.

Q: What if I have an emergency and can’t be there for my session?

A: It’s okay, just leave the door unlocked and I’ll let myself in. ….kidding. The elegant phrase, “Sh#t Happens” is extra applicable to pets. I know this, as I’ve had my fair share of animal/human catastrophes. That said, I’m not a heartless monster. We’ll reschedule the session, but do try to give me as much notice as possible.

Q: What about digital files?

A: I’m a product loving photographer. In a world where everything exists on computers, it’s nice to be able to hold special things, to feel connected. That said, any image that you purchase a physical product of will come with a free small digital file for sharing. I mean, how could you not show off the photos of your perfect fur kid? I know I do. For those who desire large digital files, it is possible to purchase them individually after investing in larger product packages.

Q: When do I pay for products?

A: Products are to be paid in full at the time of ordering. This is usually roughly three weeks post session.

Q: What if I have questions not answered here?

A: I’m an easy lady to talk to. Shoot me an email, or feel free to schedule a phone consultation with me through the blue button on the bottom right.

Q: What makes you the right choice for my pet photography?
